Crashing computers

Sorry there have been no new posts.
My computer crashed and I  lost all my pictures and stories. I  know I  should have backed them up. I was always going to and never did.
I found some of the pictures in the Picasa archives and I  had many of the stories written in notebooks.
I will be back, but it may be a while.

Bed from a box

I think any of us who like tangerines will recognize this box.
I know I have had a lot of them over time.

Each time I emptied one of them,
I wondered what they could be used for.
Then one day I decided that they look sort of like a bed!

So I painted them.

And because the writing showed through
I cover them with scrap book paper.

I covered the bottom with felt

I made a mattress for each one

Each one got a quilt and a pillow with a pillow case.

Today I moved them into the girls room.

Yellow for Honey Buns.

 Red for Cinnamon.

The girls loved them,  but they decided that
they needed new pajamas to go with their new beds!
I told them that they needed to talk to Hermoine.
She had a new sewing machine.
Now we wait to see how that goes!!

The new sewing machine

I use props for my doll pictures.
I get these props from a number of different places.
This week I was in Target and found this set.
It is called  "It Seams Perfect".
It was designed for the 18 inch dolls.

This is Hailey by Our Generation.
This is the doll it was designed for.
There is a picture of this doll on the box,
actually sitting at the machine.
As you can see,   she is to big.

This doll is also 18 inches tall.
She is by Madame Alexander.
The dress form is fine, but the sewing machine
and the sewing table is to small.

This is Lola.  She is 10 inches tall.
She is a BJD by Berdine Creedy.
She is a bit to small.

This doll is 14 inches tall.
She is Dell,  by Hearts 4 Hearts.
The scale looks good for her.

But,  she can not sit with her feet under the table.

So I tried Nanny.    She fits fine.
She did inform me that she really
doesn't have time to sew!

This is Hermione, by Robert Tonner.
She is 17 inches tall.
She can sit nicely.
And she says she loves to sew.

NOTE:   I love the things that Our Generation makes.
But rarely do they work for 18 inch dolls.
