The Tea Party

I had a little tea party this afternoon at three.
'Twas very small,
three guests in all,
Just I, myself and me.

Myself ate up the sandwiches,
While I drank up the tea.
'Twas also I who ate the pie,
And passed the cake to me.

The doll was hand made by me
from a pattern by Morrissey Dolls.
She is about eight inches tall.

Meeting Parker

Michael,  "come with us and you can meet him."

Nanny,  "Okay boys,  but this better not be a joke."

The boys assured her it was not a joke.

The boys led the way.

Tony,  "Nanny,  this is Parker."

Nanny,  "Stand back,  he could be dangerous."

Tony.  "No Nanny,  he is sweet.  See!"

Michael,  "Yes,  he loves us."

Tony,  "Master Harry says Parker is a FanDaC dragon.
That is why he loves sweets so much."

Nanny,  "Well Master Harry might be right.
For now we need to get the doll's table back in
Georgia's room before she misses it.
Then we need to figure out what to do with the
newest member of the Evergreen Youth Academy!"

A sweet tooth!!

Nanny,  "My goodness girls.  Why are you yelling?
And what did you do to the kitchen?
How did these things get spilled?"

Tella,  "We didn't do this.  We found it this way."

Tella,   "We came in here and we saw-----"

Nanny,   "I think I understand.  The boys must be behind this."

Cinnamon,   "No Nanny,  it was a-------------"

Nanny,  "Please bring me the trash basket.
And girls,  please tell Tony and Michael that I need them in the kitchen."

Cinnamon,  "But Nanny they didn't do it."

Nanny,  "Please tell them and I will deal with it."

Nanny,  "Now boys,  what do you have to say about this mess?"

Tony,   "Nanny,  we didn't do it.  I promise."

Nanny,  "Well you are going to help me clean it up."

Nanny,  "Thank you for helping.
Now would you like to tell me what happened here?"

 Michael looked at Tony

 Tony looked at Michael

 Tony and Michael together said

"We think it was Parker.
He has a sweet tooth."

Nanny,  "And just who is Parker??"

Tella  "Look,  it is leaving"

Cinnamon "I wonder where it came from"

Stealing vegetables??

Tony  "here is some lettuce"

Micheal  "do you think this will be enough?"

Tony  "with the rest of the veggies,  maybe it will be enough"

Michael  "I hope so.  He is awful big you know."

Tony  "there is no bottled water.  Do you think he will drink this?"

Michael   "I don't know.  Water might be better."

Nanny  "Just what are you two doing?"

Micheal    "Ah,  Um  we needed a snack"

"A snack"  said Nanny.  ""Since when do you two eat vegetables for a snack?"

Tony  "Well we couldn't find any cookies!"

Nanny  "So you were going to eat uncooked vegetables?"

Tony  "You said they were good and helped us grow"

Nanny  "Well I think these crackers would be better this time."

Michael  "What are we going to do now?"

Tony,  "I don't know,  but we better think of something.  He is hungry."

This left me wondering even more

I overheard this conversation yesterday!

Tony  "Nanny,  is it true that God made all creatures?"

Nanny,  "Yes Tony,  that is very true."

Tony,  "So that means we need to take care of them,  no matter what?"

Nanny,  "Yes Tony I would say that is true."

Tony   "Okay thanks."

Nanny  "Tony,  tie your shoes before you go back outside."

I now have to wonder!!!!
Does this have anything to do with the movements in the woods???

A glimpse of a slight movement just at the edge of the woods.
Are the children playing out there?
Or are there animals moving through the grass.
A opossum was seen a while back
and a beautiful gray fox just last week.

Each morning as I fill the bird feeders I watch.
I wonder what  (or who) could be living in the woods.
Maybe over time we will find out.

Pattern review

I don't normally do pattern reviews.
But I am still working my way through my large pattern collection.
I found two patterns called Lil Annie/Little Annie.
Both are copyright 1975 by Carolee Creations.
They were similar,  but different so I decided to do this review.

Here is the first one I did.
Her pattern was printed on pink paper and says Little Annie.
The pattern said she would be 12 inches.
I used as close as I could to what the pattern called for.
She measures about 11 inches.

She was made from muslin.
I did not have fuzzy yarn,  so I used regualr brown yarn.

The two changes I did make was---
1.  I used red ribbon instead of grosgrain
2.   I did not have cluney lace,  so I used eyelet

Everything else was the same.
This pattern went together very well
and I was pleased with how the doll came out.

This was the second one I made.
Her pattern was printed on white paper and says Lil Annie.
Her pattern also said she would be 12 inches,
but she is only a little over 10 inches.
For most of this doll,  I used what the pattern said to use.
Exceptions are noted below.

The pattern called for pink fabric,  I used poly/cotton.
The picture showed green stripes,  but I didn't have any.
I used black stripes.
The head pieces did not fit together right.

In the instructions it said to sew a row
of red ricrac around the top of the lace.
But no ricrac was listed in the materials list.
That was confusing to me since the doll was pictured in pink.

The picture also showed bright pink pin dots.
I didn't have any,  so I used red.
And again  I use eyelet instead of lace.

The mop cap was made the same as the other doll.
But then there was a tabard.
I have made them many times,  but the instructions
for this did not make sense to me.
It said to make just the front and then sew it to the front of the dress.
I finally gave up and made the tabard like I always do.
Normally I would not add lace to the neck edge,
but the picture showed it,  so I did.
I think it is to much for this small doll.

Here are both of the dolls together.
You can see the one in red is chubbier and shorter.

It appears that the patterns are still available on
Carolee Creations web site and etsy site.
My advice is to get the one in the blue.
It is much easier and much cuter.

This review was done completely from my own view.
